Soooooooo.....a few of us are planning on going to the Open House at Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary this upcoming Saturday and I thought maybe some more of you lovely veg*an peeps might like to join us! smile

Here's the copy from the website:

Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary is home to over twenty primates, including: spider monkeys, baboons, lemurs, marmosets and Japanese macaques. The residents have been retired from the pet trade, road side zoos, research and entertainment. Our mission is to provide a dignified, safe permanent home, and to educate the public about the plight of primates in Ontario.

Once a year, we open our gates to the public for a special day of activities including: games, jumble sale, raffles, silent auction, food, music and fun! During the afternoon, we will be hosting small tour groups to meet and get to know the primates.

Cost: $5.00 per person or $15.00 for a group of four
All proceeds from the Open House go to the care of the monkeys!

Here's a link to their website (http://www.storybookf...) where you can find out more about the sanctuary as well as view the flyer for the event.

As well, here's a link (http://maps.google.ca...) to a map that will give you directions from Yonge and Dundas to Story Book Farm.

The open house goes from noon to 4 pm so, if you stay to the end, you should be back in the city by about 6:30 pm.

As with many out of town events, usually the biggest issue is linking up drivers with those who need a ride so, if you can offer or need a ride, please do send me an email asap to [masked] so we can try to get it arranged.

Here's the info. I'll need in that email:

If you can OFFER someone a ride please state what part of the city you'll be leaving from, preferred passenger pickup point(s) (like a subway station), the approximate time you're planning to head out, and a telephone contact number.

If you NEED a ride please state what part of the city you'll be leaving from, preferred pickup point(s) (like a subway station), the approximate time you can head out, and a telephone contact number.

I will do my level best to hook up drivers and riders BUT I can't guarantee that you'll definitely get a ride.

It should go without saying as well, but it is generally expected that passengers will chip in fuel funds to their driver.

That's it!

Hope to see many of you on Saturday!

Paul :)
