Up Close and Personal: Dinner and Informal talk with Harold Brown!

Helllloooo lovely veggie peeps!!!

Now that we've got some forward inertia going it's probably a good time to announce yet another upcoming meetup event! I know, I know, we just had a meetup at King's Cafe a few weeks ago but, since it's such a great place, we will be going back there next Friday night, April 25th, this time for a very special dinner evening with Harold Brown that you won't want to miss!

We'll start off the night with a scrumptious dinner, with some lively conversation and laughs (as always ;) then top it all off with an informal talk by Harold that, given past experience, I'm sure will both enlighten and inspire.

So, for those who don't know him, Harold Brown (affectionately known as "Farmer Brown"and featured in the movie Peaceable Kindgom) is the President of FarmKind, the former Outreach Coordinator for Farm Sanctuary, and a much sought after speaker who's given numerous talks all over North America on many different subjects relating to the animal rights/vegan world. As a former cattle farmer turned vegan his insights into the agricultural world he came from, and his journey into the vegan one he now belongs to, are compelling, heartfelt, and truly spellbinding. I've personally heard him speak many times and I've always come away with something new.

For anyone who is coming, please try to arrive around 6 or so and just come straight to the back of the restaurant where we'll be seated next to their well stocked market area where you can also have a nose around for some of those "must have" veggie food items. If you have any trouble just ask one of the employees where the tables reserved under my name (Paul!) are. Also, please be aware that, although there is no charge for the talk itself, it is a dinner so out of respect for the restaurant you should be ordering food while you're there.

King's Cafe is located at 192 Augusta Ave. which is the west side of Augusta, north of Dundas, and just north of the park in Kensington Market. It's easy to get to via TTC on the Spadina, Dundas, College, or Bathurst streetcars.
