Introduction

Hi! I've been vegan since the birth of my daughter last September and vegetarian for four years. Our family includes my husband, two cats, and a baby (joined in that order). Would love to meet people who care about animals and environment!

Do you consider yourself a vegan or a vegetarian? How long have you been one?

I started on the road to vegetarianism four years ago (stopped eating land animals). I have eliminated all animal products from my diet as of a few months ago, but I still have some leather shoes and some wool clothing and yarn (no longer buying).

What made you decide to become vegan/vegetarian?

Realizing that "meat" comes from animals, that animals are exploited. When I had my daughter, I realized how hard it is to create and sustain life and how profoundly wrong it is to exploit animals for this ability.

Care to share any favorite vegan recipes?

I'm very new to vegan baking, and my favorite is the super-easy muffins: 1 box cake mix (any kind), 1 - 14.5oz can of pumpkin. Mix until smooth and bake until toothpick poked into center of one comes out dry.
