This is a group to get people together who support animal rights. We will list all types of events from animal group tricky trays to just general animal events around northern new jersey. A number of friends of mine love these kinds of events so I'm sure there are more of us out there. With Hurricane Sandy a few people I know have been taking donations for furry friends as well as the humans who need help and what better way to reach out to people to help with donations than on a meetup site.

PAWS is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1962 by Westport, Connecticut resident Betty Long to rescue homeless dogs and place them in permanent homes. In the early 1980s, our rescue efforts were expanded to include cats. PAWS rescues & rehomes approximately 115 dogs and 435 cats annually. Many of the dogs faced euthanasia at local pounds and most of the cats that we help are strays and abandoned cats that roam our streets. Peace Advocacy Network (PAN) promotes a peaceful existence through veganism, social justice, and respect for the Earth's inhabitants and resources. PAN, founded in 2010, is a grassroots group completely run by volunteers that strives for the absence of violence in the lives of people and animals by eliminating oppression and inequality. The Bear Program's primary mission is to protect black bears and their habitat. Our Bear Smart Community outreach program serves to educate residents about bears, reduce unwarranted fears and increase tolerance of our bear neighbors.
